Artist's Comments

This was inspired by the bloody, stomach-turning, hard-to-watch and downright barbaric performance between Ric Flair and Mick Foley at Summerslam, which I'm happy we paid for in the long-run.
The match really REALLY was horrible, but I've got to respect their commitment to the performance. As such, I did this picture of Ric Flair (the winner), 59 years old, looking like he just got beat about the face with a baseball bat... Which isn't far from what happened, except you have to add barbed wire to the equation. He's a tough old bird, Flair.

ECHEM. This is another attempt at using photoshop. I made it like I was cutting out construction paper, meaning I had a layer of flesh-tone, a layer of blood, a layer of platinum yellow hair and a layer of shadows and I just sliced pieces out until they all matched up when stacked up. =)

The background is a quick-and-dirty filler job until I feel satisified with another one I still should work on. Something flashier.

thx.

What?
:iconsimbandeh:
I was playing around with layers in photoshop. I pretty much just made a bunch of colored layers (pink, platinum blonde, black, and red I think) and cut them out like construction paper. It was kind of a conceptualization exercise, if I were to do it again (without trying to simulate a paper cutout) I'd probably use layer masking. =P

Thanks!
